Awesome. @-) Go HP !

Posted by ecniv08 Oct 1st 2009

HA! i think the movie doesn't deserve that much money.. it's only now i'm realizing that HBP wasn't that good. BUT STILL, i'm happy bout the news. :))

Posted by awefrk33 Oct 1st 2009

Wow your retarded! It was amazing! Best one so far. It deserves to beat out ootp!

Posted by elvaldo Oct 1st 2009

It was the best Harry Potter film, and it seriously is one of my favorite films of all time. I loved every little darn thing about it and im immensely happy about the news (:

Posted by USAhermione Oct 1st 2009

Well it wasn't THAT good...following the story line, anyway.

Posted by USAhermione Oct 1st 2009

By the way (not that this has anything to do with the article) when is someone going to update the Caption Contest? I loved that!

Posted by camken Oct 1st 2009

It should beat Ootp in my opinion and its my favorite harry potter movie by far

Posted by Marauders_weasleygirl02 Oct 1st 2009

Whoo! Go Half-Blood Prince!

Posted by morsmordre79 Oct 1st 2009

USAhermione - i was wondering the very same thing lol. And yayyy HBP!

Posted by phoenixknighter Oct 1st 2009

I THINK THE ONLY REASON WHY OOTP WOULD BEAT HBP IS BECAUSE OF THE BIG HYPE THAT MONTH, MOSTLY ABOUT THE DEATHLY HALLOWS BOOK. OTHERWISE HBP WAS DEFINETLY BETTER THAN OOTP, AND MORE ARTISTIC!

Posted by 9ronweasly7 Oct 1st 2009

I know that a second run theatre is going to show half blood prince for an entire month next week so there IS a chance of it going further. I plan to go like every other day!

Posted by ramito123 Oct 1st 2009

H 5 was in cinemas for 158 days , h6 for 77 days and ongoing , so it can still make more than Hp 5 easily , also they will make 400 millio $ minimum with dvd sales.

Posted by BellatrixCrucioYou Oct 1st 2009

Yeah, the only reason OotP is still beating it is because of the time it came out. It was like a week before DH was released. But good job HBP!! It deserves to be better than OotP, though...every movie is better than OotP.

Posted by hpintwense06 Oct 1st 2009

That's really awesome! It's not playing at any theaters by me any more, but I did get to see it twice! :)

Posted by Snapealicious Oct 1st 2009

I can't put my finger on exactly why, but I didn't think that HBP was that hot. It definitely needed more Snape-time. I really enjoyed the book, though. POA is still my favorite HP film. There was so much good stuff going on in that one. I have high hopes that the DH films will change my mind though.

Posted by iwantorlando05 Oct 1st 2009

Yay go HBP!!! I wish I could see it again, but I live in a small city and it's now out of the theaters here. I LOVE this movie! I saw it 6 times in the theaters and it got better every time because I noticed something new. I thought the movie was very well made and artistically beautiful. I think this film out of all the others left the most out from the book, but Kloves did a wonderful job of capturing the overall tone of the book. I loved it!

Posted by phoenixknighter Oct 1st 2009

OH NO I have to disagree with you iwantorlando05 ... i think OOTP left out the MOST.. and for a good reason. The book was almost 1000 pages. And the movie was only 2 hours.

Posted by Ann Oct 1st 2009

It was hard to see HBP for what it was, instead of for what it wasn't (so much left out - and new unecessary stuff) the first couple of viewings. But I came to love it - esp Slughorn. But OOP was so incredible with what it DID have - just so much action - that I understand why it may have had a broader appeal (and as mentioned before - a lot of coattail hype due to DH coming out) AND howabout all 6 movies being in the top 25 of all time? Truly remarkable, that.

Posted by GracelessDementor Oct 1st 2009

I have a lot of things to say about HBP and there were things that I didn't like. I felt it was more like a teen peppy movie sometimes and not Harry Potter. I completely loathed Jessie Cave in it. She was a rubbish actress and it seemed like a panto character. Also the useless scenes like the random Burrow burning and waitress flirting. Even taking this in, I really liked this movie but that's because I was comparing it to OOTP which was, in my opinion, the worst HP movie. It felt like angsty, cheaply edited and was changing everything that was keeping in the series (eg. The fire floo effect, dementors, death eater masks etc) HBP was very good but there were things that irratated me about it but I was so happy it wasn't as crap as OOTP. OOTP only got high numbers because of all the HP hype. I think OOTP makes non-readers not want to read the series and that just sucks. Yates did a better job but I still haven't forgiven him. Sorry for this rant but I had to say my thoughts

Posted by Gryffindor_Seeker_7 Oct 1st 2009

Well, good job, HBP!! GracelessDementor, I agree, the Burrow burning and waitress flirting scenes were completely unnecessary, especially since they cut out all the memory stuff, and the explanation of what a Horcrux is, and Dumbledore's funeral. That was a big disappointment. USAHermione, I was wondering that too, I always love reading those!

Posted by USAhermione Oct 1st 2009

Gryffindor_Seeker_7 6: I know everyone says that they cut out Dumbledore's funeral, but I thought that last scene where everyone was lifting up their wands with the light was almost a substitute for that. It seemed very short compared to Dumbledore's (sniff) actual funeral, but I thought it flowed better with the end of the movie. GracelessDementor: I agree completely. What's going to happen in the horcrux gap? And the Weasley's, the poorest Wizarding family, is supposed to be able to afford a new house in just a few months before the wedding? I did like them putting together Remus and Tonks though - it would have seemed weird if they just threw it in DH for us fans. Bring back Caption Contest :)

Posted by Gryffindor_Seeker_7 Oct 1st 2009

USAHermione: I agree, when everyone lifted their wands in the air, that was really beautiful. I also thought that when Fawkes flew away at the end, that was nice too. But I bet a lot of non-readers didn't get that, too bad for them. But I didn't like at all how they just randomly stuck Remus and Tonks together like that. The point was that she was supposed to be all depressed and mousy haired because Lupin didn't like her (not at the same time they were together) and then see Fleur still liking Bill after he got attacked (which they left out) and then get together with Remus and then be all happy and pink-haired again at the funeral. I would have liked to see them and Mrs. Weasley and McGonagall talking about how Dumbledore would have wanted to have a little more love in the world. That would have been cool, especially for the What Would Dumbledore Do people (from the HP Alliance). Also if that had been in there I would be less mad about them taking out the funeral.

Yayy! :)

Posted by deathly_hallows2007 Oct 1st 2009

I was wondering, since Bill Weasley has never been in any of the other HP movies, how are they going to introduce him in the DH1? My thoughts would be to start out with Dumbledore's actual funeral at the beginning of DH1 and use that to introduce Bill and Fleur back into the storyline. I know Dumbledore's funeral was suppossed to be in HBP, but it would fit in nicely at the beginning of DH1.

Yayy! :) Happy to see that.I went and saw all the movies in theaters when they all came out.(magnificent movies BTW).lol.I can't wait for the Harry Potter 7 Movie to come out!!! I love the harry potter Series!!(Its awsome) If you want another awsome series lok for: Maximum Ride 1-5 P.S.----Rember always throw the stupid Twilight book in the trash...thanx:) Bye:P

I'm so happy that the HBP and all the Harry Potter movies have been successful, because that means the studios are willing to invest the huge dollar amounts they spend on making the movies based on the remaining books (or in this case 'book') into quality movies. I REALLY hope the final movies will follow JK Rowling's plot more closely. Can anybody tell me why PA was the LEAST successful movie when it was the best reviewed movie? I could never understand that! Anyway, HOORAY HBP!
